I've heard this speech on why you're not happy from Matthew McConaughey once before and it's pretty eye opening.
The two things that stand out to me in it are his goal to make sure all the important things in his life are constantly a focus, though it's not always possible to have every aspect of your life at 100%. Though, I suppose the point is to just care mainly about your biggest priorities.
The second thing that resonated with me in this speech is getting rid of anything in your life that is bringing negativity. There so much of that in the world now between watching the news and social media.
Shut out the negative forces in your life, as all that does is create resistance.
Since realizing my bigger purpose is to inspire others to make sure they're doing what they need to be happy instead of just staying in their complacent hamster wheel of life I find this video should be mandatory for every person to listen to and bookmark. Life is short and in the words of Matthews McConaughey,
"It be a whole lot cooler if you did" (what makes you happy).
The key there is not looking for the happiness fix but finding happiness in the things you already have.
